AFM's Marriage Protection Resolution Introduced in South Carolina

"This is a pivotal moment in the history of the marriage struggle.  AFM's success in South Carolina -- and the success of our new state-based strategy -- will inspire courage and a clear roadmap to victory for countless other Marriage Protection Caucus members all over the nation. Especially in current key battleground states like Iowa, Kentucky, and beyond."

You can make a difference in by sending a request to your state legislators asking then to organize to support and defend common sense marriage in your state.  If a Marriage Protection Caucus has already been launched in your state, it encourages them to join without delay. If not, it encourages them to start one immediately.

Our new strategic plan to shift the marriage struggle to the 50 states -- the Alliance for Marriage state legislative Marriage Protection Caucus -- is already showing results!

Acting almost immediately after its formation, South Carolina Marriage Protection Caucus members introduced the nation's first Marriage Protection Resolution in the state legislature!

I am pleased to report the resolution has already sailed through the South Carolina house with broad bipartisan support and currently awaits action in the Senate Judiciary Committee.

You may remember that the Marriage Protection Resolution calls upon national legislators to send the federal Marriage Protection Amendment to the states for ratification.

In short, it gives notice to federal representatives that their actions in Washington will have repercussions at home.

I could not be more encouraged at this moment.

This is a pivotal moment in the history of the marriage struggle.  AFM's success in South Carolina -- and the success of our new state-based strategy -- will inspire courage and a clear roadmap to victory for countless other Marriage Protection Caucus members all over the nation. My friend, I know the speed of our success in South Carolina is due in no small part to the continued support and financial generosity of stalwart pro-marriage Americans like you.

I will never forget the support and financial sacrifice so many people have given to make this moment possible.

I sincerely thank you for your continued partnership.

Yours for the children of America,

Matt Daniels, J.D., Ph.D.
