Most of you reading this message know me. I'm Bill Greene, the President of RightMarch.com. Several years ago I started RightMarch as a conservative activist seeking to counter left-wing activists from MoveOn.org and the Nancy Pelosi Democrats.

We've helped Dr. Alan Keyes in his mission to defend the culture of this nation.

We helped lead the fight to ensure the United States Senate confirmed strict constructionists such as Chief Justice John Roberts and Associate Justice Sam Alito.

We've fought battles to keep Congress from stealing more of your hard earned money and from spending it on "bridges to nowhere" and marriage benefits for homosexual couples.

Most recently, our members have sent me to the U.S.-Mexico border, working alongside Chris Simcox of the Minutemen in order to defend our nation from the flood of illegal aliens entering our country while lawmakers in Washington do nothing to keep our neighborhoods safe from drug dealers, rapists and terrorists.

Yesterday, I announced my candidacy as a Republican Candidate for Georgia's 10th Congressional District.

As you may have heard, two weeks ago a great statesman and patriot, Congressman Charlie Norwood, died after a long battle with cancer. His service to my home state of Georgia, and to all of America, was a shining example of the caliber of man we need in Washington, D.C.

He and I shared the same views on the important issues facing our nation, and we corresponded often throughout the years. It was very sad for all of us to learn of his untimely passing, and we will all miss him dearly.

Last week, several friends locally and nationally learned of this news, and like many others around the country, were concerned that Charlie's death would leave a void in the United States Congress -- shoes that will be hard to fill.

Our values and beliefs would potentially be without a strong voice on Capitol Hill -- and we could not let that happen.

Many of these friends approached me to ask me to seek to represent this district.

I was humbled by their faith in me... and hesitantly cautious of the potential responsibility.

After all, I've been a national leader on most of the issues Charlie championed, and I have a hard time keeping quiet about them (as many of you know); but as an activist, I never imagined myself as a candidate for the United States Congress.

I have been blessed with an organization full of fellow patriots like you, who have allowed me to demonstrate proven leadership on the issues most important to our future.

There are several other people seeking to fill Charlie's shoes who share these views, but none of them have demonstrated the kind of leadership that I have provided on these issues throughout the years.

Like you, I want my children to grow up in a country safe from Islamic radicals who seek to destroy our nation because we permit freedom of religion and freedom of expression.

I want a nation where children receive a proper education, embrace the American culture, defend the sanctity of life, and where marriage means one mother and one father.

I want a nation that will defend its borders, rather than roll over to big corporations and lawbreakers who violate our laws and exploit our social services.

I want a nation where its citizens can keep more of their hard earned paychecks rather than spend it on expanding the role of government.

It is because of these principles, the love of my family and the strength of supporters like you, that I announced yesterday at a huge "campaign kickoff rally" at our headquarters my candidacy as a Republican Candidate for Georgia's 10th Congressional District.

As a fellow patriotic American and conservative activist, if you share the visions that I've outlined today, then please join me in the next battle against the secular left.

I am stepping away from my duties at RightMarch.com for the duration. My strongest competitors are a couple of Georgia State Senators, and I need to build a LOT of local name recognition in a VERY short period of time. This means we're going to be saturating the airwaves with radio and television ads, as well as mailings, rallies, concerts, and a LOT of door-to-door campaigning.
